The Dynomet GPS portable road dynamometer is a device that gets rid of the wheel sensor and replaces it with a GPS receiver. Installation on a car involves placing the GPS antenna on the roof of the car - that's all. Assembly takes 2 seconds! This type of dynamometer has no limits as to the measured power or torque, it will measure any power and cars with any drive.

A portable road dynamometer measures passenger cars, delivery vans, off-road vehicles and trucks!

A portable road dynamometer differs from a chassis dynamometer in that the car is accelerated on the road instead of on rollers. In a traditional chassis dynamometer, to calculate power, the dynamometer control program must know the mass and circumference of the rollers. In a portable dynamometer, we provide the weight of the car instead of these data. And that's it! The rest looks the same as in the chassis dynamometer - inertial, with the difference that we accelerate the car on the road, not on rollers that simulate it.

A portable road dynamometer will measure:

– power and torque,

– acceleration (each – from any speed to any, e.g. 0-100 km/h, 0-160 km/h, 80-120 km/h, etc.) and time and speed in the quarter mile,

– braking distance.

Parameters (power, torque, distance traveled, speed, etc.) are measured at a frequency of 10 times per second, which gives accurate measurements and power and torque graphs.

A portable dynamometer has many advantages, including:

– accuracy – measurement error is less than 2%,

– the car is tested in its natural conditions, on the road – there is no problem with, for example, poor airflow, which is why the measurement accuracy is often higher than on a chassis dynamometer indoors,

– the program is adapted to measurements on the road, usually about 800 meters of road is enough to measure the power in most cars.

The software allows you to compare up to 4 graphs at once and has measurement correction according to the DIN70020 standard.

The advantages over stationary dynamometers are:

– there are no limits to the measured power, it will measure any power (provided that the road conditions are appropriate),

– possibility of road measurements: accelerations, speeds, braking distances, etc.

– testing the car in its natural conditions, on the road, where it is used every day,

– does not take up valuable space in the workshop.
